History and Process of The Keepsake "Memory Beads"
|
Traditionally, Rose Petal Beads were
made into Rosaries as a memento of those
loved, who had passed away, from the
flowers of the service. Typically these were
the flowers from the spray that covered the
casket.
They were made with the flowers
themselves being cooked into a paste and
then rolled into beads. This process took
quite a lot of roses and the color of the
beads were usually dark, if not black. Over
time the beads tended to dry out and
shrink, Our process of using low-fired clays
enable us to make beads in a choice of
coloring with no shrinkage though the years.
Not only are we able to use rose petals in
this process, but any type of dried flower of
ANY age can be rendered into beautiful
Keepsake Beads.

Our process, once we receive the flowers
or petals, are to dry the flower petals if
needed. They are then reduced to just the
right size by hand and added to the mixture
of low fired clays.
The resulting product is then hand -rolled
into beads and combined with sterling silver,
pearls or crystals to make a beautiful piece of
memory jewelry or rosary. All components of
the jewelry are Sterling Silver. The rosaries
are truly a labor of love as we use no chains,
connecting beads with handmade links. The
work involved is entirely done by hand and
may take up to eight weeks for a finished
piece.
The Keepsake Memory Line is made with
only the finest components and make the
perfect git for someone you love or for
yourself.
